Baron Browning opens bid to unseat Les Baugh in Shasta supervisor race

Baron Browning is hard District 5 Supervisor Les Baugh and has assembled a group that includes group leaders well-versed in nearby politics to enable him unseat the longtime incumbent.

Browning is a small business operator and preferred Anderson Metropolis Councilman who could give Baugh a really serious challenge.

For his section, Browning claims he will never “place down” Baugh simply because he doesn’t want to run a damaging campaign.

But it is obvious that Browning thinks Baugh and other supervisors have not labored effectively alongside one another amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why he says District 5 wants new leadership.

Browning introduced his campaign previous week.

Baugh, a church pastor, was initially elected in 2006, replacing Trish Clarke, who chose not to find re-election just after 4 phrases as District 5 supervisor.

Browning’s marketing campaign group contains:

  • Aleta Carpenter, who was close friends with the late Shasta County supervisor and point out Assemblyman Dick Dickerson and labored on the Youth Violence Task Pressure with Dickerson. She also worked for late North State Assemblyman Stan Statham.
  • Former Redding Mayor Mike Dahl. Dahl was on the campaign staff of previous Redding Metropolis Councilman Brent Weaver, who served from 2012 to 2016. Dahl is a Redding Chamber of Commerce board member.
  • Kristy Lanham, who served on previous District 4 Supervisor Steve Morgan’s campaign crew. Morgan shed to Patrick Jones final November. Lanham is north Sierra group relations manager for Sierra Pacific Industries and a Redding Chamber of Commerce board member.
  • Michelle Slade, who owns Umbrella Marketing & Consulting.
